HELIOS AIRWAYS is the first independent privately owned airline in Cyprus that began its operations in the spring of 2000 as a charter operator.

Our philosophy is to operate a profitable low cost airline that will provide to its passengers the maximum possible safety, highest levels of service and competitive fares.

With this philosophy in mind, we started operating scheduled services in 2001, first to Sofia and then to Dublin. From 2002, Helios Airways flies daily to London Luton and as of 2004 to London Heathrow. The airline continues its route expansion and in summer of 2005, apart from its twice daily flights to London will be operating frequent scheduled flights to other UK airports such as Manchester, Gatwick and Birmingham, as well as to other European destinations including Warsaw, Bucharest, Strasbourg, Prague, and Athens.

The airline currently operates two Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, delivered brand-new from Boeing, and a Boeing 737-300 that was delivered in April 2004. A fourth aircraft joined our fleet in spring of 2005 in order to facilitate the airline’s expansion to new routes and increase of frequencies on the existing routes.

In addition to its scheduled network, Helios Airways operates charter flights from the UK and the rest of Europe for Cyprus and the area of Eastern Mediterranean for major tour operators, as well as ad-hoc flights for special interest groups, corporate incentives and seminars, as well as private charterers.

Our passengers frequently commend us on the high standard of service that we offer on all our flights; the soft leather seats, the in-flight entertainment system with the latest movies, the choice of meal and most importantly the genuine smile and caring attitude of our cabin crew.
